QALITATIVE AND QUANTITIVE FEATURES OF READING QUESTIONS IN TURKISH COURSEBOOKS PREPARED ACCORDING TO THE LAST TWO TURKISH TEACHING PROGRAMME

The purpose of this study is to comparatively examine the post-reading questions in terms of their qualities and quantities not only from the behaviourist but also the consructivist perspective. Thus, the postreading questions in the books have been examined in relation to quantities and than examined according to literal, inferred and critical evaluation questions determined by the theoratical information in literature. The findings obtained from the study indicate that the number of questions in boks prepared according to the programme in practive has in increased quantitatively compared with the former programme. In addition to this, the questions prepared according to tuhe former programme requires lower cognitive processing wheras the questions prepared according to the new programme in practice require partial high-level cognitive processing.
