MikhailBakhtinstatesthatthenovel is a significantgenrewhichreflectsthe modern era. Accordingtohim, thankstothisfeature, thenovel has beguntoinfluenceandtransformtheothergenres. A similarprocess has alsooccurred in ourcountryandpoeticlanguage has resembledtheproselanguage. One of themostsubstantialexamples of thisprocess is Safahat. InSafahat, instead of traditionalpoeticlanguage, Mehmet Akif uses “a newlanguage” thatlookslikethelanguage of novel. Thepoetcreates a uniquestylebyusingmaterialsfromthenovelandproduce aproselanguage. Thus, he finds a chancetomention a lot of diversetopics in his ownway. Inthisarticle, traces of Bakhtin’sthoughtsaboutnovelisationprocesswill be inquired in Safahat.
