Six Sigma is a management tool which involves more than a qualitative improvement. When examined, it has been seen that Six Sigma provides crucial benefits to hospitals abroad. However, it is not utilized in most of the hospitals in Turkey. In the literature study of this research, we clarified the meaning of Six Sigma. In the research, we aimed to determine the viewpoints of the managers of the private hospitals in Istanbul for non-utilization of Six Sigma in their hospitals. The research has been applied between August 2014 and March 2015, on private hospitals in ?stanbul which do not use Six Sigma; and the data has been collected from managers who know about Six Sigma. As the method of the research, 137 questionnaire form has been collected; but 118 form that were suitable for the required criteria could not been included in the analysis. According to the frequency and percentage distribution calculated at the end of the study, the chief reason for non-utilizing Six Sigma has been established as the lack of knowledge about the Six Sigma procedures. The least significant reason for non-utilizing Six Sigma has been established as the inappropriateness of Six Sigma procedures for hospital production and service system.
