This study has been carried out with the aim of reseraching the factors which have effects on nutritional behaviors of adolescents living in the province of Kartal in ?stanbul. A questionnaire form which consists of 18 questions has been prepared by scanning various sources. Taking the opinions of the specialists who have relevant researhes and making necessary corrections; the questionnaire form has been applied to 384 adolescent individuals and they have been made to fill it out completely. In analysis of data, chi-square test was used to evaluate the relations between categorical variables and p<0.05 value was accepted as the materiality level in all statistical analyses. In this study, it was determined that there was a significant relationship between the body-mass index (BMI )and diet. It was determined that there was no significant relationship between the number of meals consumed together with the family by BMI in adolescents, the educational status of mother and father, the behavior of experimenting with dieting, the state of evaluating the weight of the children (weight status assessmen)and the state of non-prescription dieting which is not suitable for weight loss and between BMI and mealtimes. Fixating of researchers that the factors which effect the nutritional behaviors and habits will help to reveal the reasons which underlie the cases of unhealthy nutrition and provide the forming of an effective and reliable environment which provides healthy nutrition.
