Maslenitsya is the name of holiday which is celebrated yearly by Slavic Nations including Russian people from March 3-9. Maslenitsya means “Oiled Holiday” and the basis of the Maslenitsya which is celebrated as a holiday - is the Russian peoples’ mode of life before Christianity - harmony with nature and belief. There are many similarities between Maslenitsya and Nevruz in reason and type of celebration in Turkic people. This article includes detailed information about the word “ Maslenitsya” and about this holiday as well as some about the similarities between Maslenitsya and Nevruz.
