Pakistan is a country of variety of educational systems and institutions. Besides the traditonal educational system of madrassas, modern educational instutions do exist without a standart in terms of educational quality. This lack of standard is reflected to the religous education programs, educational materials, educational methods and program outcomes. Parents who think that, religion classes of formal education are not adequate, send their children to madrassas also. Therefore a combination of both traditional and modern education is practiced. In this study, quality and status of formal religious education in Pakistan is investigated. Modern education system and the language of education is considered first and then formal education institutions, education programs and applications are investigated.
