The aim of this study is to examine experimental studies conducted in Turkey related group counseling and to determine the trends of research on this subject. The data of the work carried out by adopting the qualitative research method was obtained by examining the document. In the study, full text accessible graduate theses related to the group counseling in the system of Higher Education Council (YÖK) National Center for Thesis and the articles indexed in ULAKB?M National Database were examined. As a result of this review, 49 graduate theses and 11 articles on group counseling between 1991 and 2017 were included in the study and examined by content analysis method. In this context, it was evaluated different themes such as the distribution of the experimental studies by years, the sample group, the statistical techniques used, the variables that are tested for the effectiveness of group counseling, the theoretical orientation, the number of sessions in the counseling group, the number of experimental groups and the number of members, the distribution of the theoretical approach according to the effectiveness. According to the results of the research, it was found that the researches were carried out mostly between the years of 2014-2015 and mostly carried out with undergraduate students. It is the other results obtained that the experimental groups are between 7-12 members. In addition, the diversity of the variables tested for effectiveness of group counseling was noticed, but focused on variables such as test anxiety, peer bullying / pressure, psychological well-being / psychological health and hopelessness. The results of the study were discussed in the literature.
