The purpose of the research is to document plan features of the Hagios Stephanos Monastery (Church, Inas School, Metropolith – Minister House and Iskalion School), which is located in today’s K?ranköy District (Atatürk and Bar?? Ditcrict) of Safranbolu, and to analyse the dating problems. The Greek community who settled in Safranbolu established a close relationship with the native Muslim population. In the first half of the 19th century, they already built their private monastery called Safranbolu Hagios Stephanos Monastery.The monastery was built in a large courtyard on a sloping land from West to East. There is no detailed architectural depiction of the structure made by researchers. The previous studies only evaluated the broad features Iskalion School and Hagios Stephanos. In this study, the architectural depiction of the current status of the structure are expressed, decorations used in theconstruction are described and its current status has been documented by photographs. The study further attempts to examine the construction of the monastery buildings of 1870 Metropolith, 1863 Iskalion School, 1872 Hagios Stephanos Church and 1881 Inas School; the physical structure of Metropolith and the School; educational activities and the population of students & teachers by using the Ottoman archive documents.
