Classical Turkish poetry is a source that should not be ignored in interdisciplinary studies. Divans by poets are not only pieces of art but they are also noteworthy as they reflect the culture and lifestyle of the society they originate from and they even contain verses that mention particular incidents like wars, construction works, assignments and impeachments. This is because these verses sometimes include pieces of information which are not available in sources or some details which are not provided by them. From this aspect, studying divans together with sources of various disciplines will both help understand them better and enable us to add onto the current information and implications. Ottoman imperial tents of the era were studied in this article through four verses about tents of Sultan Mahmûd 1st in Seyyîd Vehbî’s Divan and some verses in odes written for various purposes. In this article, we tried to find out in what ways imperial tents were approached in divan. The article also discovered reflections of information from sources on Seyyîd Vehbî’s Divan and different or additional information and implications regarding imperial tents.
