Ibn -i Kh aldun, a well-known Islamic thinker who lived between 14th and 15th centuries has been influential in various fieldslike history, geography, economics and sociology. His biggest impact on sociology is the science founded by him, so-called ilm-i umran. This science has created the ground for contemporary sociology discipline. In this study, similarities between his thought and classical sociology is elaborated. Accordingly three classical sociologists are selected; Auguste Comte, Karl Marx and Emile Durkheim. Comte’s “static”, “dynamic” society perspective, “law of three stages” and his evolutionary understanding of society are similar with ?bn -i Haldun. ?bn-i Haldun and K. Marx are similar in their views of labor-value relationship. Both see the value of a price in the labor process of its production. Also Marx's concept of “class consciousness” is similar to Ibn -i Kh aldun’s “asabiyet”. Both think that it is necessary to have such consciousness to gain the power in society. Durkheim's “organic” and “mechanic” dichotomy is also similar to Ibn -i Kh aldun’s distiction between “bedevi” and ”hadari”. Both argue that division of labor is the main factor in moving from one stage to the other. The study starts with a summary of Ibn -i Kh aldun’s life and thought. Following sections describe the three thinker’s views of society and their similarities with Ibn -i Kh aldun
