Ahmet Mithat Efendi is one of the writers attracts attention too much recently and whose books are published again. So his works at different literary genres are being published by many publishers. Adoptation of different orthographic rules while transferring from Ottoman Turkish attracted our attention. This study aims to reveal spelling differences at Ahmet Mithat's publishings and to discuss is it possible to create common spelling at text publication. Situations such as proofmark usage, apostrophe usage, spelling of tense suffix, conjunction and prepositions, heteography/contiguous words, spelling of compound verbs, consonants and vocals, capitalisation, spelling of foreign proper nouns, words of western languages, composites and Persian appendix, misreading, missing words, sentences, paragraphs are exemplified in the texts.
