Sociologically, education is among significant institutions of society. As in every social institution, education came into existence in order to meet certain needs of society. Educational institutions have to fulfill their duties to meet these educational needs of society. Changes which occur in society affect educational systems and educational systems should be able to respond to changes. One of the components which affects the development of the educational system of a country is conducting scientific research and putting research carried out into practice. It can be said that journals in the field of education play a significant role in scientific research. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate research on foreign language education in periodicals in Turkey and to inform researchers of in what aspects research on education in Turkey was largely conducted. In the study, the document analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used. As a result of the study, it is seen that foreign language teaching principles and methods, psychological foundations of foreign language education, foreign language teachers and teacher trainees, learning environment within the classroom, foreign language education curricula, texts used in foreign language teaching and foreign language education policies were mainly addressed in the articles examined in the journals
