Because of the malamah conception that predominates Ottoman poetry, poets often pretend as if they are Abdals and Kalenders. Therefore the daily lives of these dervishes, their traditions and customs, their clothing and the goods they used commonly appear in divans. Baki predominantly mentioned the customs and the traditions of Abdal and Kalenderi dervishes, uttered various names of dervish costumes and referred to some of their goods in his divan as well. In this paper, the elements concerning mystic and heterodox life founding in Baki’s divan are gathered and investigated. Related to the observed matter, supporting examples are represented and observations from the travel books of the period are quoted in appropriate places.
