The purpose of this research is to determine the level of native language usage of Turkish children living abroad through the views of teachers. Turkish children living abroad are increasingly alienating themselves from their native language and culture due to the reasons of using their native language in limited time and places. The level of usage and the development of mother tongue are affected negatively as the medium of instructions being English or local language in the schools where they have their education. This situation also negatively affects the students' cultural awareness and the formation of their national identity. The problems faced by the teachers in Balkans while teaching Turkish as the native language, the levels of Turkish originated people’s using their native language, the effects of multicultural environment on children's cultural development are the current issues. Referring to expert opinions in the scope of qualitative research and scanning relevant sources, a survey was created to provide with measurement and the data were collected through face to face interviews. The resulting data was analyzed in Excel. As a result of this research, it can be concluded that there is no particular book and curriculum in teaching Turkish as a native language, there is inadequate number of teaching hours for learning and development of children 's native language, and the Turkish student shave not acquired adequate level of Turkish as native language and have not developed cultural self-awareness
