Porcelain material; whiteness, transparency, hardness etc. With its superior technical characteristics, it has attracted great attention from the first developments in China to the process of production in Europe and to contemporary porcelain art. In this process, porcelain light permeability (transparency) feature provided by the surface decor applications, pictorial, photographic image creation techniques have been developed. One of these methods is the transparent porcelain plates that create a black-and-white photo look when backlit. Produced in the nineteenth century with factory facilities, it was called the Lithophane, fashioned in European style. Nowadays, production methods and CNC machining methods are developed. This article examines the process of photographic rendering on porcelain surfaces by CNC machining method, and is associated with contemporary art and design through artist work.
