Since the early of 19th century, great epidemics have occurred because of the cholera illness. The cholera, which appeared in the territory of the Ottoman State at various times, was also felt in 1910. One of the places being affected from the epidemic was Erzurum. The disease got to Erzurum province even though some precautions were taken against the cholera existing in Russia in the border. The struggle commencing within both border and province in June 1910 was maintained to the end of the year. Nonetheless, social and economic structure as well as losses of life were affected. The managers of the province who were deprived of many facilities like staff, drug, machine and equipment besides financial deficiency had difficulty in making an end of the cholera. In most places, people were devoid of health-care service due to the lack of infrastructure. The underlying basis of this study is to investigate the effect of the cholera epidemic on Ezrurum province, the precautions taken against the sickness and the effect of those precautions on people.
