The works, which give information about the life of the Prophet Muhammad, his proceeding the notification (struggling to spread the Islam) and his diplomatic martial struggles are called the Siyer (the history of lives of people who are associated with Islam) The variety of Siyer, having initially appeared in Arabic Literature had passed to Iranian Literature at first, before followingly passing to the Turkish Literature. The work of Veysi, named Dürretü’t-tâc fî Sîreti Sâhibi’l-mi‘râc is the first book of haecceity which was put down on paper in the variety of Siyer. This work gained a great fame just after being written and was followed by appendixes. The first appendix to the Dürretü’t-tâc is Zeyl-i Siyer-i Veysî, the work of Nev„î-zâde Atâyî. There can be found five written manuscripts of this appendix which was uncompleted due to the death of Atâyî in various libraries. This work is composed of an entry and four sections, and the entry part includes the description, the historical evolution and general knowlege about the appearance of the variety of Siyer in Turkish Literature. In the first section, the appendixes to the Siyer of Veysi are given in an order, and the findings, obtained about the contexts and characteristics of these appendixes are presented. In the second section which was alloted to examining, there is datum about the name, the date and the reason of manuscripting, manuscripts, sections, included events, sources, language and wording of Zeyl-i Siyer-i Veysî. In the third section, the resultes, obtained in this process are ranked. In the fifth section, points, to be taken into consideration are given in an order and the critical text, built up with the comparison of four written manuscripts of the work of Nev„î-zâde Atâyî, named Zeyl-i Siyer-i Veysî, is given.
