In this study, the change of the human sex ratio, age structure, dependency rate and education status of the population in Çayba?? (Kotur) basin are analyzed that has been occurred in last 25 years. Çayba?? basin is located in eastern part of our country and next to the ?ranian border. The research field (basin) is completely located in Van Province, Saray District and includes 21 villages and two small settlements. ?n the search field, the human sex ratio is high. Analysis of age groups of population in Çayba?? basin, 40,4% population younger than 14 years of age, 56,8 % working age, and 2,8 % elderly age. Dependency rate is (76%) in the basin which is well higher than the country average rate (46 %). Educational status of the population in the Çayba?? basin was shown that important development related education in the basin occurred between 1990 and 2014. Literacy rate in 1990 in the basin was 62,7 %, in 2014, literacy rate increased to 92% in the basin. Literacy rate by gender is also similar. The female literacy rate was 46,7 % in 1990. In 2014 female literacy rate was increased 87,3 % in the basin. The male literacy rate was 78,3% in 1990 in the basin. In 2014 male literacy rate was increased 96,3 % in the basin. Between 1990 and 2014 literacy rate increased significantly in the basin. In the basin, only 7,6 % of the literate population has a diploma higher than 8th. grades. Much more effort and investment must be conducted to increase higher educational attendance.
