In Classical Turkish Literature, it is love and thus the two parties of love, the lover and the loved one, comprise one of the most essential issues. There are various concepts regarding the place of the loved one in this genre of literature, where almost everything concerning the loved one is put into words from the viewpoint of the lover. While these concepts are generally common amongst many of the Classical Turkish Literature poets, they may also alter from one to another due to the poet’s individual approach to the issue, differences in style and the richness of their imagination. In this line, this study will identify the concepts regarding the place of the loved one in Ahmet Pasha’s Divan, who is one of the greatest poets of the 15th Century, and scrutinise the poet’s way of handling these concepts.
