It is true that there is a great relationship between the clothing culture of a society and living conditions of a region as well as its climate. In this respect, culturally rich Kazan Tatars’ way of life is truly reflected in their exclusively embroidered clothes and trappings. However, when compared with all Turkic societies, modernization started much earlier among Kazan Tatars. Their way of clothing culture began to change during the 30s of the 20 th century and it still remains as one of the oldest but most unforgettable as well as being the richest heritage in the region. Their art of clothes and trappings houses many arts forms such as the art of weaving, embroidery, leather mosaic, etc. The culture clothing and trappings can be examined in two main ways. 1- The clothing culture of the rich and elite people. 2- The clothing culture of the villagers in the countryside. Besides daily routine clothes, they have their special garments for special occasions such as festivals. Of course, it would be right to examine clothes for males and females separately.
