This article examines the effect of analogy on the theory of government adopted by many linguists since Sîbeveyh’s time to the present day in the context of the Basra and Kufa language schools. Theory of government briefly states that the change in the end of words in the sentence is due to an operator. Almost all grammar books have been based on this system and the subjects of meaning, product and irab (case situation) have been systematically discussed especially in the classical works. Grammar scholars, taking into account the theory of government, effectively used the analogy described as “attributing the effect of a word to another word due to the similarity between them”.
