In this study, it was intended to determine whether empathy levels of the students of the social work department had an impact on social justice advocacy and to determine whether the level of social justice and empathy difference showed a statistically significant difference according to some demographic characteristics. The research is a cross-sectional study designed in the relational screening model of quantitative research. 138 volunteer students studying at the Social Work Department of Gümü?hane University participated in the study. The data were analyzed in SPSS package program. Empathy Level Determination Scale, Social Justice Advocacy Scale and Individual Information Form were used as data collection tools. According to the research findings; it was determined that empathy level had a statistically significant effect on social justice advocacy (R = 0.592, R2 = 0.350, F (1.136) = 73.254, p 0.05), it was found that there was a negative and low level of significant relationship with the client / community advocacy dimension, which is the sub-dimension of social justice advocacy (r = -0.181, p <0.05). As a result of the study, it can be communicable that the studies aiming to increase empathy skills may bring an increase in social justice advocacy
