The government in Turkey has provided important incentives and resources to encourage R&D. To see the effects of R&D spending, the world’s top 20 R&D spender firms and the world’s top 20 innovative firms’ data examined for the period covering the years of 2008-2012. According to the results no meaningful relationship found among R&D expenditure and productivity and employment. The results that were acquired also raised questions about the success of the current Turkish incentive programs of R&D.
