The religion that affected the Turks’ lives after it was accepted by them changed and transformed the nation in terms of social, cultural, political and aesthetical aspects and it also shaped their literature. Sufism that aims to improve one’s inner world and mature him in terms of idea, spirit and action, is of Turkish literature’s sources. Within this context, sufism was an inspiration to almost every poet and author who wrote under the effect of Islamic culture and civilisation without considering whether he was a member of a religious order or not. Authors used the stories and terms that were common in sufistic literature in their books. One of them is “Light of Muhammad” or “Haqiqa Muhammadiyya” expression. Accordingly, Allah created the light of Muhammad firstly and everything was created for the sake of him. This light first appeared in Adam, and reverted to religiously noble people’s foreheads until Prophet Muhammad was born. In our study, we tried to reveal how the understanding of The Light of Muhammad reflected on Siyer-i Nebi of Erzurumlu Mustafa Darir, a 14th century author, with reference to text and illustration. The light that was described in this book in detail appeared as halo in illustrations. This symbol was drawn more elegantly and brilliantly in the illustrations of Prophet Muhammad
