Thisstudy is built on thereflection of general elections 1950 in Urfa. 1950 general elections is regarded as thebeginning of a period in Turkey. Formerrivalheld on thebasis of themajoritybetweentheDemocraticPartyandtheRepublicanPeople'sParty, has endedwiththevictory of theDemocratswinoverwhelmingly. Thissuccess of Democratsisfelt in manyprovinces in thecountry as well as in Urfa. RPP and DP resorteddifferentwaystoaffectelectorate of Urfa in whichelectionrace is on thefierceespeciallybetweentheyears 1946 and 1950. Reflection of thestrugglebetweenthetwopoliticalparties in the General ElectionResults of 1950 triedto be given in thisstudy. As it is understoodfromarchivalsources in particular,1950 General Elections, tookplace in a democraticenvironment in Urfa andthecelebrations of theresult of elections in a culturalstylecould be explained as an instinctivereactionaccumulatedforyearsbypeopleto RPP
