The Iranian Green Movement can be summarized as the shifts of the opposition to civil activism to stay on the streets until the demands of the opposition, which are the objections of the 2009 Presidential election results, are reviewed by Housein Mousevi. “The Green Wave”, (2010) an animated documentary film by Ali Samadi Ahadi, portrays the events that took place during the entire process in documentary style in the form of an animated film. The images used in the documentary are enriched with images taken from Facebook, Tweeter sharing, blog posts, mobile phones, and the news content producer is people who are in squares and participate in the popular movement. This animation-documentary film performs a detailed analysis of a failing east-based civilian movement. In this context, “The Green Wave” documentary has become a communication tool that summarizes the practice of political communication of dissident thinking in Iran. Common symbols, thoughts and interpretations about the public demonstrations were conveyed through animation film aesthetics. In this study, the Iranian Green Movement will be held in the background and political activism in the eastern wing will be discussed in the context of art-aesthetics-politics. “Persopolis” (2007), describing the Iranian revolution, “Wals with Bashir” (2008), about Israel's invasion of Lebanon, “Tehran Taboo” (2017) critisizing the social situation of Iran have achieved great success within the scope of political animation films and effectively put forward the practice of cinema as a tool of political communication.
