In this article, the historical development of Classical Turkish music in and around Trabzon through the Classical Turkish music performances and performers will be discussed. The aim in focusing on this subject is to emphasis the fact that Turkish music which seen as court music, has performed by public in the settlements at Anatolia where cosmopolite city life has existed and formed rituals and performance characteristics in itself. This article, on the other hand, aims to contribute in increasing the limited number of resources about the subject and developing the subject with different point of views by drawing attention to urban music in and around Trabzon. The field work which is done after literature review designates the method of the study. Field observations, interviews, oral historical studies, the datums obtained by researching the performances archived in Turkish music educational institutions and the performances that recorded by ourselves in the region have direct this research.
