THE IMPACT OF EMOTIONAL CAPITAL OF EMPLOYEES ON JOB SATISFACTION

The purpose of this study is to analyze whether or not emotional capital of employees has an effect on job satisfaction. The data has been collected from 168 teachers working at public schools and 432 teachers working at private schools in Gaziantep. Within the scope of collecting data related to this research, “Emotional Capital Scale” and “Job Satisfaction Scale” was used. Emotional Capital Scale was developed by Newman and Purse (2007) with 77 items and was shortened into 30 items in 2015. Moreover, Job Satisfaction Scale was developed by Brayfield and Rothe (1951), shortened by Yoon and Thye (2002), adjusted into Turkish by Ku?luvan and Ku?luvan (2005), and the scale consists of 5 items. SPSS 23 and AMOS 23 packaged software was used in analysing the data. In data analysing process, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, correlation and reliability analyses were made with structural equation model. According to the results, relationship management factor and adaptability factor of emotional capital have effects on job satisfaction, while awareness factor, self-management factor and remaining distant factor of emotional capital do not have effects on job satisfaction.
