The works of Torgny Lindgren differ from other writers in terms of how the local words, language features and dialogues are formed. For this reason, he has given a new concept to the world of literature as "Lindgrence narration" with the language he uses. The purpose of this study is to examine the work of Torgny Lindgren, “The Way of a Serpent", which was published in 1982 and gave him three literary awards in his country Sweden in 1983" in terms of discourse. In the novel, the confessions of hero Jani, the dialogues with God, the distortions in the social structure, and the evils done by people who have money are portrayed and the words and the sentences used in the events narrated in a way that we cannot know whether to laugh or cry are conveyed with their unique characteristics. In addition, it has been conveyed with interesting narratives by giving the events that a religious family in a village lives through and that silent villagers God do not intervene in the events in a surprising way. First of all, the characteristics of the text organized according to discourse principles and format were examined according to the linguistic coding at the text level, the discourse designs of the text appropriate for communicative reason, and accordingly the superstructure characteristics of the text and finally the proper arrangement of the text according to the characteristics of the context. Thus, the propositions in the work were classified in terms of discourse structures and discourse analysis was made and examples were frequently given.
