Yozgat is located on a region of Middle K?z?l?rmak in the Central Anatolia. It is surrounded by Sivas in the East, Kayseri and Nev?ehir in the South, Ankara and K?r?ehir in the West and Çorum, Amasya and Tokat in the North. During the Turkish War of Liberation period, Yozgat was not invaded and it wasn’t any under the threat of being invaded. It started participating in national campaign seriously with the Sivas Congress, but because of the riots that broke out in the first years of the national struggle, the people in Yozgat had diffucult days. During these riots, public order was disrupted and offenses such as theft and murder had increased. Some of the prominent people of the Çapano?lu family which was the most influential and well-known family in Yozgat, couldn’t understand the necessity of the Turkish war of liberation. They chose the side of ?stanbul Government and joined the rebellion. Upon that the government of Ankara sent “Kuva-yi Seyyare” forces to the region under the command of Çerkez Ethem Bey. Finally, the rebellion was surpassed in a bloody way and the Çapano?lu family was scattered. After that, though some local events emerged around Yozgat, these events had been surpressed by the national forces. The purpose of this work is to evaluate the position of Yozgat province during the period of national struggle. This study is methodologically based on the academic literature on the related period
