THE INVESTIGATON OF AGGRESSION LEVELS OF ATHLETES WHO DO INDIVIDUAL SPORT AND TEAM SPORT

The aim of this study is to compare the ahtlete’s aggression levels in terms of sex, age, marital status, educational status and sports branches. The athletes of sport clubs which connected to province of ?zmir form the universe of this study. A total of 253 competitive athletes (2016-2017 season) engaging in basketball, handball and athletics constituted the sample of this study. During the data collection phase, the participants answered the questions of Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire and the personel information were collected using a form prepared by the researchers. In data analysis, Independent-Samples T Test was used. Statistical significance level was set as p ≤ 0.05. Results of the statistical analyses showed that the male participants have more aggresive attitudes than females and individual sports athletes have more aggresive attitudes than team sports athletes.
