In this study, the aim is to discuss the theme of deification of the characters named Kurtz and Mustafa Said by using the analogy between Conrad’s novel Heart of Darkness and Tayeb Salih’s novel Season of Migration to the North. By using the natural deification of Kurtz as a colonizer, this study aims to present the ironic deification of Mustafa Said, who is a member of the colonised society, especially by the Northern women; the ways of their deification and the reasons of it. In this context, the theme of deification in both novels will be associated with colonialism, postcolonial literature, orientalism and Greek Mythology and the ways of the deification of both characters in the context of colonialism and mythology and the factors that were influential in their deification will be identified. As a result, it will be reached that while in the South Kurtz, as a colonizer, is deified by the natives owing to the violence he practised on them, in the North on the contrary, Mustafa Said, armed with the knowledge of the North, is deified unexpectedly and ironically by the Northern women by using his knowledge and mystery. With this purpose, mostly the text-based method will be applied and the Greek Mythology will be used along with this method.
