The mirror is an object which reflects the images falls on it. The mirror does not lie. Whatever has been given to the mirror, the mirror will reflect them as it is. The mirror both reflects the beauty and the ugliness as they are. It does not adorn and comment neither. Usually it has been looked in on day time and not on the nights because the mirror’s been looked in on the nights, reminds the association with death and fear. Having this kind of feauteres make the mirror as a mystery and an aesthetic object and take part of everyday life. The people in both primitive and civilized societies, satisfied their feeling of appreciation by looking in the mirror. As a phenomenon the mirror delivered self-confidence and excitement, in addition in many societies the mirror is described as a strength, fortune and an intimate object. The mirror play role of mediation to help person’s acceptance of himself, his freinds and his surroundings. In this context, the study contents the features and effect of the mirror . It has been tried to examine what the mirror means in some myths and belief systems.
