It is emphasized that the most important and most critical of the variables affecting the learning-teaching environment is the teacher. The importance attributed to teaching brings with it a focus on the theories and practices for the training and development of these professionals. For this reason, teacher training is an important topic all over the world. In this direction, various politics have been produced and regulated in our country, especially since the Tanzimat, in the training of teachers. The teacher, which is the most important element of the learning-teaching environment, maintains this importance in religious education and teaching. As in the other lessons, the greatest task in religious lessons belongs to the teachers of this course. It is necessary for the understanding and application of the religion to grasp the human life in various directions and to teach and develop the instruction of the religion which plays an active role in every field in the direction of certain methods and principles. Certainly, the greatest contribution in this regard is expected from religious teachers. It is also necessary to constantly question and develop the religious teaching profession and the qualifications required by this profession so that they can provide the expected contribution. In this context, it is important to examine the activities to train religion teachers. This research aims to examine religious course teacher training activities. In this research, which is based on the review of the document, the process of training the pre-and post-republic religious education teacher is evaluated generally in historical, institutional and political context. In the study, it has been found that the changes that frequently occur in the teacher training policies in our country are also valid for the teachers of religion lessons and the training period of the religion lessons is mostly tried to be continued with the daily approaches.
