Abstract The concept of cultural heritage is often an expression of the products that are transmitted from generation to generation, including the traditions, spaces, objects and artistic works that a society has developed. Architecture being one of the most important indicators of cultural accumulation, is also one of the most important indicators of the civilization levels of societies. However, heritage is a concept whichhas powerful connotations associated with previous ages. Therefore, the word architectural Works modern and postmodern periods in the 20th century when the rate of consumption is accelerated. It is one of the most widespread problem in recent years that qualified architectural artefacts belonging to the recent past have been completely destroyed, or partly lost their authenticity, especially under rapid urbanization and income pressure. In this study, Olbia Cultural Center, which is located on the campus of Akdeniz University and of which architectural qualities are rewarded by A?a Khan Award, has been examined together with the aim and evaluation criteria of A?a Khan Awards and the situation of protection criteria for 20th century architectural heritage has been discussed by using this example.
