Abstract The history of the act of construction goes back as old as humanity. This action has reached today by changing and developing from ancient traditions with all the tangible realities it contains. Therefore, as the settlement patterns of societies change over time, it has become inevitable for them to adopt new strategies for the management of construction. In this respect, in this study, first history of construction action and construction management notion are mentioned. After that, with the distinction of engineering and architecture education, who undertakes the construction management are examined in the historical process. According to the current data, the status of construction management education in Turkey were discussed. For this purpose, undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered in this area have been investigated and by comparing the educational process in the countries that are prominent in this field, appreciation of the current situation was made. In this context, the survey was administered to persons who is working as an architect in Turkey's various regions. In the questionnaire, they were asked which areas they worked in and the benefits of the courses related to project and construction management that they had taken during their undergraduate education were questioned. The answers were evaluated, and an attempt was made to take a picture of the current situation
