The declaration of Napoleon Bonaparte as "French emperor" in the year of 1804 caused the recognition of this title by other states. Ottoman Empire was impressed of this matter closely. The allied states Russia and England did not accept the title of the Napoleon, as well as they insisted and made impression that Ottoman Empire should not recognize it. This situation put the Ottoman Empire in a difficult period. On one side the Ottoman Empire was face to face with the pressures of the France and on the other side of the allies states. Therefore it preferred the side of the allies with the thinking that it would be less harmful. But after a while, due to the military successes of French against these states, the Ottoman Empire gone to the French side and accepted being emperor of Napoleon despite of pressure of Russia and England.
