During the first years of its foundation, the Republic of Turkey followed a comprehensive reform movement under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. One of the most significant aspects of the Turkish Reform Movement on social and cultural life was the reform on the language. On this matter, firstly, a committee was formed and the Latin scripts were admitted. Then, the Turkish Language Association was founded and the Turkish Language Congresses were convened in 1932, 1934 and 1936 in order to improve the Turkish Language. This study aims to show the reflections of the Third Turkish Language Congress, which took place in the Dolmabahçe Palace from 24 to 31 August 1936, in Anatol?a by relying on periodicals of the time and archival documents.
