The Holy Qur'an is the last divine book that introduces the human creator and teaches the world to be sent to the world. The understanding of this Great Book which is sent to read, understood and applied to the truth depends on the knowledge of "Esbab-? Nüzul ?lmi" which has an important position in the Qur'anic Sciences. Therefore, all commentators who deal with the Qur'an's exegesis have given the necessary attention to this issue and have helped to better understand the verses by conveying their narrative narrations in the explanation of the verses. One of these commentators was Ebussud Efendi, who had been a Shaykh al-Islamist during the most magnificent period of the Ottoman State. In this study, Ebussuûd Effendi's attempt to approach the subject of 'Esbâb-? Nüzûl' was tried to be determined. In this context, Ebussuûd Efendi's approach to these issues was emphasized by giving information about the definition and importance of Esbâb-? Nüzûl. In the Esbâb-? Nüzûl narrations of the Müfessir, the methods he followed, the terms he used without expressing the reasons of the narratives, and the subjects such as the approach to the cause and the nature, were dealt with. It was revealed that Ebussuûd Efendi chose between the reasons and the rumors that he had chosen, and that it was based on the principle that 'it is not the matter of cause, it is not a rule that the ruling is public.'
