Each organization wishes to be successful in terms of performance and maintain this success. At the point of sustainability, an important factor that strengthens the hand of the institutions is institutionalization. With the institutionalization, institutions develop standards of work and behavior in order to carry their successful structures to the future. However, this needs to be developed in accordance with the conditions of the current time. In recent years, the use of internet has become widespread all over the world and has become an indispensable element for institutions and especially for people. Although it is seen as a positive development, there are some concerns about how the internet usage of the working people during their working hours affects their performance. Considering this situation, which can be expressed as cyberloafing, in the institutionalization process, it can be said that it is worth researching whether the employees have a significant effect on their performance. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to reveal the effect of cyberloafing behaviors of the employees on the work performance in the institutionalization process. In order to realize this purpose, a survey was conducted on 212 academicians working at Bayburt University. According to the research results; the institutionalization process has a significant effect on both cyberloafing behaviors and work performance; cyberloafing behaviors have a significant effect on the relationship between institutionalization process and work performance.
