“Sanat” the poem of Faruk Nafiz Çaml?bel; is a masterpiece which has the characteristics of nationalist romantic inclination, based on tendency to Anatolia in the foundation years of Republic. It is significant that to analyse this poem, transmits a poetic approach to large mass, with a semantic/semiotic view reflects semantic/ semiotics tructures of particularly the poem “Sanat” and literary texts, that aim to leave words rather than artistic concerns. In this context, theoritical information for analysing the characteristics of poem language in terms of linguistics and semiotics has been provided and the conceptual frame of language’s artistic function has been constituted. When considered linguistic indicators in the poem “Sanat”, on the contrary to its perception in literature, it was identificated that in th epoem, functions of narration and association had been applied rather than the artistic function of language. Because, with the struggle of the poet to express his poetic ideas, linguistic sembols represent clear, comprehensible and concrete features in the poem in which unfamiliars cretism, deviations and authentic images that are main criterias of linguistic functions in language were never appealed. Concordantly, in this poem the difference between superficial structure and extensive structure arised from poetic and logical relations is slighter than the difference in a poem in which artistic function of language is applied. Persistently shown of linguistics sembols that were anonymised, steoretyped and so thatare not convenient for associative substance, demonstrates that poetic and politic concerns moved ahead of concerns on poem itself. Contrasts and lexisfields were constitued in term of this concern. Ultimately, through poem, to defend the poet’s poeticide as the fuctions of emotions and narration are applied while being described of criticized poetic views of the poet, conative function is applied. Since therefore, in poems written by the apprehension of sending massage in poetic and politics, it was proved by a semantic/semiotic analyse that the place of art had been taken by priorities such as explaining ideas, affecting society, forcing community to adapt a new poemmentality.
