Literature works are distributed to many sorts in terms of forms and subjects. “Lyric” and “story” are generally accepted as the most important sorts of literature works. In this study, these two sorts are examined by their own distinct features and opinions from the important theorists are mentioned and the change of these two sorts in the literature history are discussed. It is seen that the sorts got closer by the effect of modernism, hard to distinct the two and then the writers made works that close the both sorts, especially beginning from 19th century. The inter-sort concept is defined clearly by indicating similarities between lyric and story and pointing interaction areas. It is remarkable that the similarities between lyrics and stories of Ziya Osman Saba, a Republican era writer. For sampling, samples from the lyrics and stories of the writer has been picked and the inter-relation of the two sorts are examined.
