The profession of architecture has been concerned with the production of all kinds of built environments, and the practice of architectural practice has been influenced by historical conditions from ancient times to the present. Therefore, the architect, the agent of the architectural act, has also changed in terms of its definition, social position and existence in relation to a wide social context. This study aimed at questioning the definition and position change that comes with modernity, emphasizing that the architect is not a timeless character and aiming to make a historical opening. As a result, when we examine the architect of the architects of architecture in the historical process, it is seen that it is not a fixed character. With the modernization process, the architect was able to overcome the status of a master of construction as a subject and create his own original discourse.
