Language is the concretized form of thought. It is the most important tool during the formation and improvement process of thought and also converting it to messsage. The limits of language are the limits of thought. But similarly, the limits of thought also form the limits of language. For this reason, transforming personal language into social language reflects the psychological, social and cultural aspect of the speaker as well as his understanding of world. With an inter-discipline approach, today’s scientific studies about linguistics focus on discourse/text which is evaluated as the meeting point of language and parole. When studied by the means of text structure and usage of language, Atatürk’s Speech reflects the characteristics of his discourse. In Atatürk’s Speech, as an utterance subject, he composed 10531 sentences with 3025 different syntax and he also reflects the way he thinks and his priorities in the structure of theese sentences. The style of Atatürk’s Speech is different from other political discourses. In this research, we will study the usage of language in Atatürk’s Speech and try to define Atatürk’s discourse.
