Abstract The aim of this study, after identifying tourist attractions in and around the city, Samsun and their use in tourism sector is to identify the profile and the level of satisfaction of the tourists visiting this city. There are important historical, cultural and natural attractions in Samsun and its immediate surroundings. The number and variety of tourist attractions is on asset for Samsun. These attractions haven’t been at the service of tourism effectively within a plan so far. In this study, it was established through surveys that, most of the tourists visit Samsun for a short period of time just because they are interested in history, nature and hot springs. It is promising, in term of the improvement of tourism, that tourists express their satisfaction with the attractions they visited and the activity they attended.
