Climatecondition of theterrainrightalongwithbeingharshandchallengingmakesthelivingconditonsuncomfortable. TheEastern Anatolia Region, in whichhuman has resided since thepaleolithicage, has managedtomaintainitsenticementthroughoutthehistory. Theregion is quitearableandconvenientforbreeding. Fromtheprehistoricages, regionestablishedstrongpoliticalandtradingrelationswithneighbouringsocieties. Roadsbecamethedominatingfactors in governmentrelations. TheEastern Anatolia Regionlocates in thejunctionpoint of thetradingroutes of Asiaand Europe. Forthefirst time in history, bygermangeographerFerdinananvonReichthofenreached in thecentres in TheEastern Anatolia RegionandcontinuedtothedifferentareasbyusingthesilkwaycalledcaravanrouteWithhistoricaldocumentsandarchaelogicalfindings, . It is a provablefactthat Erzurum was in thehistoricalroad network. Itgoeswithoutsayingthat Erzurum wasthemostimportantway-point of Nothernwestroute of Urartu State. It is thoughtthatKsenophonusedthepath of Bayburt-Trabzon roadcombining Erzurum with Black Sea as a term of ten thousands’ return. Inourstudy, It is indicatedthatthoughtheregion has gotharshandstiffphysicalfeatures, it has beenabletoreachitsneighboursCaucasusand Iran bythehelp of theroads. Alsotheregion has connectionswithotherregionsandcities.
