CemalSüreya is a poet who is dramatically influenced from Western drawing. However, contrary to EceAyhan and ?lhan Berk, he is interested in tangible painting in which the figure isn't vanished totally. The impact of Western drawing in poems of Süreya appears either via the intense usage of certain colours that bear image value and are repeated like a leitmotif or direct reference about various Western painters in some poems. This situation makes people think that Süreya gave priority to the colours and ink images instead of notions in the comprehension of external world and tried to draw surrealistic paintings with reference to a certain vocabulary capacity. This study aims to show how and to what extend the impacts coming from Western drawing and the usage of colours influence the poem aesthetics of Süreya.
