The environment in which it exists and the processes that are experienced afterwards are extremely effective in shaping even the smallest structure. Therefore, in order to understand the reasons behind the formation of an element that has cost cultural life, it is necessary to go down to its origin and examine the later development process in different dimensions. This is also true of the minstrelstyle poetry tradition, which has been in existence for many years. As it is known, tradition is based on oral culture and continues to exist in different cultural settings and through change and transformation depending on the change that society has experienced. While change is inevitable in the long-term adventure of life, it is understood that some elements within the tradition have survived by protecting themselves or by undergoing minimal change. One of these elements is the verse called “foot”. The reason for the use of these verses within the tradition is to add harmony to the poem, to create the core of the poem, to make lovers remember poetry production and Master-made poems, etc. it is explained in various ways. However, it is possible to add a new function to them. In order to make this addition, it is necessary to understand the functioning of the verbal mind structure. In this cultural structure, where the word is not yet fixed by writing, various methods have been developed for information transfer. These methods stand out from within stereotyping and repeated use. Rhyming and redifs, which have such a use, are not only responsible for harmony in poetry, but also by taking the means of transmission of emotion and thought. First of all, the repeated use of these elements in poetry enables the other party to draw attention to these points, which in turn leads to the desired effect on the listener. The aim of this article is to see the reason behind the stereotyping and repeated use of foot verses, which are a kind of rhyme within the tradition of minstrel-style poetry. For this purpose, with the approach to be made by considering the dynamics of oral culture, the aim of establishing the correct communication behind foot Use and with it the function of providing the transmission and permanence of the message that is desired to be given will be tried to be shown
