Television has been a new executive and transfer area for traditional music. Apart from the music programs, traditional music items were placed in different publications. One of these publications is the TV series which meet the audience periodically. Television series have emerged as one of the important dynamics of the media industry. In recent years the TV series sector has shown improvement in Turkey, in terms of the placement of other important item as advertising, as well as marketing in the domestic and foreign publishing markets and being suitable for the creation of successive products. In terms of the use of music as one of the main elements of the series, TV series can be considered in the music industry. In the music market, the desired works and artists are introduced to the public through TV series, works are marketed as contents, works and artists are introduced with programs such as concerts. One of the main areas that the media industry uses in order to attract attention and reach more audiences is the tradition. Traditional elements often appear on television in terms of space, subject and content. The traditions of oral culture are presented to the public after being processed in the manner and ratio wanted by the media. The contents of the traditional music memory are also introduced to the television audience as series music. In this article, in which the use of traditional music in television series was tried to be evaluated in the context of the media industry, series of national channels were scanned between 2002 and 2014. Detected TV series were determined by content analysis technique. The use of traditional music memory in the series results in the recognition of the work and performer in today's conditions, the spread of the ballad and the promotion of the region. In addition, there are cases such as the rapid detachment of the work from the owner and the acceleration of the anonymisation process.
