The aim of this study is to discuss how the literature works written for children help a child protect his/her self-worth. In this context, the book "Separate Houses" (2011) of Serpil Ural who is one of the best writers of 1980s when the Turkish children's literature writers discussed the interest and need of a child, and the childish perspective is taken as an important example. In this study, the assurance of a child's self-worth is essential. With this idea the meaning of self-worth, the importance aspects of this value and the functional usage of bibliotheraphy known as a book therapy for the protection of self-worth will bi discussed in the direction of Serpil Ural's testimony.
